Best result ever at the National 6-Stage Championships
The Club’s Senior Men had their best day ever at the National 6-Stage Championships in Sutton Park, when the A team finished in sixth with the B team in 17th (and second B team).
Thanks to his stellar performance at the Southern Relays in Aldershot two weeks earlier, U23 Henry Silverstein was given the task of leading off for the A team. He clocked 18:06, handing over in 29th to Andrew Penney on leg two, who posted the fastest HW leg of the day (17:28) surging through the field to gain 20 places. GB international Stuart McCallum (17:40) pulled the team into the top seven, with England international Jonny Cornish closing the gap on sixth place Highgate in 17:41, allowing Dan Cliffe (17:57) to overtake on leg five and hand Charlie Eastaugh a decent buffer on the final leg, which he stretched out further, finishing in 18:04 to bring the team home in 1:46:56, ten seconds faster than last year's time.
The B team were led off by Archie Walton, who clocked 18:21, handing over in 41st to Tom Jervis, who moved up 15 places in 18:06, the team's fastest leg of the day. George Mallett took the team up into 22nd in 18:22, with Charlie Wyllie gaining another five places, running 18:15. Ed Mallett clocked 18:25 to bring the team up to 14th, but Rhys Boorman found himself up against a serious string of final leg athletes as he brought the team home in 17th place in 18:31.

County Stars
The Club’s juniors enjoyed a medal spree at the Bruce Judd Cross Country Relay Championships, which double as the County Championships, in Stoke Park Guildford on 7 October.
There were gold medals for the U13 Boys and U13 Girls, with Theo Creed (7:18) and Alexandra Bramwell (8:16) posting the fastest legs in their respective races. Alexandra was joined by Blanka Domsodi (9:03) and Freia Harper-Tee (8:30), who brought the Girls A team home for the win. The B team of Beatrice Eminson, Sofia Templeton and Zara Creed were 7th, and the C team (Beatriz Pina Harper, Eleanor Sparkes and Tara Oliver) finished in 12th
For the boys, the winning A trio was kicked off by James Fraser (7:39) handing over to Cyrus Sheikh (8:02), before Theo Creed brought them home. The B team of Max Harrison, Thomas Hennigan and Fredric Bolton were 5th; while Joseph Sutherland, Evan Cotter and Tommaso Crosara for the C team were 8th.
More gold medals were bagged by the U15 Girls, with Ava McAndie posting 8:16 to hand over in 4th to Otelia Garcia-Davis, who moved into third in 8:21 for the A team, before Isabella Harrison brought the team home for the win in 7:28, another fastest-leg performance. The B team of Julia McDonnell, Summer McDougall and Isabelle Sparkes were 7th. Mahira Narvekar ran solo, completing the course in 10:02, as team managers Andrew Davies and Anne Hegvold wanted to give everyone a chance of a race, even in incomplete teams, as a sharpener for the Surrey Cross Country League.
The U15 Boys – Sam Dyson (7:35), Harry Allen (7:37) and Sammy Hobden (7:19) – claimed the bronze medals. Oliver Cartwright Smith running solo finished in 8:12.
The U17W A trio of Lara Delport (8:24), Grace Eminson (8:36) and Dillan Quinn (8:36) also achieved bronze medals, with the B team of Sophie Conway, Ariana Shala and Sophia Anderson finishing in 6th, while the U17 men's team of Noah Fernandez (7:09), Alexander McGuigan (7:07) and Jack Holden (7:10) were agonisingly just outside the medals in 4th. Michael Banks, running on his own, clocked 7:44.
