For the Defence
The Club’s Senior Men’s team kicked off the defence of their Surrey Cross Country League title in fine form at the first league fixture in Richmond Park on Saturday (14 October), finishing in second by a mere two points to Belgrave Harriers.
First home was Dan Cliffe in 8th, followed by U23 Henry Silverstein in 14th, building on his recent great performances in the Southern and National 6-stage Road Relay Championships. Next was Charlie Eastaugh in 16th, followed by the Mallett brothers, Ed and George, in 18th and 21st respectively. The scoring team was completed by new team captain James Stockings in 27th, Rhys Boorman in 31st, Charlie Wyllie in 38th, Tom Jervis, still on the comeback trail in 40th, and Eoin Brady in 42nd.
The Senior Women (below), led in by team captain Claire Grima in 36th, were seventh A team (ninth overall).
The formidable U13 Boys finished in first place, with Theo Creed taking the win, and James Fraser in 3rd, with Max Harrison (10th) and Tommaso Crosara (19th) completing the team.
U15 Isabella Harrison won the U15 Girls/U17 Women’s race, with the U15 team, completed by Otelia Garcia-Davis (5th), Ava McAndie (8th) and Summer McDougall (14th) finishing in second. The U17 Women were fifth and the combined U15 Boys/U17Men seventh.
