Three HW athletes were celebrating personal bests last Sunday at the finish of the 29th Chichester 10K road race, which culminates in a lap of the iconic Goodwood motor racing circuit. In a fast race in which winner Nick Goolab of Belgrave set a new course record of 29:01, Alex Milne (above) finished in 10th position out of 1529 runners in a PB of 30:02 – a result which shoots him into fourth on the Club's all-time 10km road rankings. There was a PB, too, for Joe Clark who finished in 70th, in 33:17.
Also in action was Gina Galbraith (below left) who was third W40 and 20th overall in the women’s race, in a PB of 37:44, while Peter Giles was top M75 finisher in 43:48.
Meanwhile in Hertfordshire Jonny Cornish (above right) headed home a 1357-strong field to win the Watford half-marathon, crossing the finishing line in 01:07:29, almost three minutes ahead of the runner-up.
