Pause for Thought

Pete Mulholland's family and HW members have been stopping for a moment of reflection at his memorial bench, now installed opposite his 'old bench' at the end of the parkrun course and facing the Windmill on Wimbledon Common. The new style of seat, made of oak from sustainable British woodlands and designed to reflect the natural curves of the tree, was installed at the end of September.

Club members, along with park runners and Wimbledon Windmilers raised the money for the bench by entering the virtual Mulholland Mile or simply donating to the fund. Such was the response that the Club is holding the balance of money raised for the Mulholland family to put towards a proper memorial celebration of Pete's life with all his friends in athletics, whenever that becomes possible.
