European Bronze for Chad

Teenager Chad Miller took the bronze medal in the European Junior Championships in Boras, Sweden (July 18-21) in 10.53, having won his heat in 10.67 and semi final in 10.47 just outside his season's best of 10.43 set at the end of June at the Bauhaus Junior Gala Invitation in Mannheim, Germany. Interviewed for British Athletics, Chad, whose father Paul coaches an elite group of sprinters at HW, showed his growing maturity in the sport, acknowledging that, ‘Junior athletics isn’t about being the best now, it is about developing us and being the best later on, so I am taking everything as it comes. Every competition, racing people from all over the world, being in call rooms, having to do anti-doping – these different things develop you and help you so much.”
