Chad sets his sights on Sweden
Teenager Chad Miller boosted his chances of selection for the European Junior Championships in Boras, Sweden (July 18-21) when he clocked a season's best of 10.43 at the Bauhaus Junior Gala in Mannheim. Competing in a 20-strong British team, his time was well inside the 10.55 qualifying time and places him third in the UK U20 rankings this summer. The British team for Sweden is due to be announced this Tuesday.
Meanwhile in the Rosenheim League the men’s and women’s teams top their respective divisional tables with one match to go.
The women’s team triumphed in their penultimate Eastern Division match at Battersea Park tonight. Emilie Bokor-Ingram took the 400m and helped the team to victory in the 4x200 metres relay. The other winners were Ann-Kathrin Mielke in the women’s triple jump and Lisa Thomas in the 400m hurdles. Thomas was also third in the 800 metres and Bokor-ingram second in the 200 metres.
Alex Binley was second and third in the 1500 and 3000 metres, Michelle Mason was third in the discus and hammer and Aisha Amodu third in the 100 metres.

In the men’s table the position is much tighter, with the top three teams all on 18 points. HW managed to cling onto their lead by the skin of their teeth after finishing third on the night. Sam Hitchings threw a lifetime best to win the hammer with 42.85m while the other winner was all-rounder Mark Andrews in the triple jump. Andrews was also second in the 400m hurdles, pole vault and discus.

The top four men’s and top three women’s teams will qualify for the Rosenheim League finals which are being staged at Kingsmeadow Stadium on Wednesday, August 21st.
